“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What?  You, too?  I thought I was the only one.’”

-C.S. Lewis

Friendships are a key element to living a free life.  We believe that we were not made to live life alone.  We were created by God as social, communal beings.  To be who we’re supposed to be, we need each other.  That’s the way God made it!  We have developed friendship groups as a way of helping us to be this type of community. Friendship groups serve as a springboard for friendship building.  The bible speaks about the Body of Christ and when it does it’s not just a fun way to refer to Christians.

Romans 12:4-5 says

In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we?”

What is a friend?

"One with whom you dare to be yourself.”  We see that friendships
were created by Divine Design, so Our Purpose is to promote and facilitate the building and cultivating of life-giving friendships.

How do I find a group that’s right for me?

F
riendship groups meet on the first Sunday of each month at 6:00 pm at various locations across the city.  While there we enjoy food, friendship and talk about how to grow deeper relationships.  Each friendship group is based out of life situations, so that there is commonality, remembering that we want to use friendship groups as a springboard for friendships.  Each group also has one monthly activity where we simply get together, hang out and enjoy each others company.  You can check out our different friendship groups at the bottom to get more information about the one that would best fit you.
